COOKIE POLICY

Last Updated: May 30, 2026

✓ SIMPLE & TRANSPARENT: We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for our platform to function. We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies.
🔒 NO TRACKING: Diligent Energy does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, marketing cookies, or any third-party advertising technologies. Your browsing activity is not tracked or sold to advertisers.
1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
1.1 Definition. Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your actions and preferences.
1.2 Technologies We Use. This policy covers:

  • Local Storage: Used for storing your preferences (like dark/light mode)

2.1 Minimal Use. We follow a privacy-first approach:
  • ✓ We only use cookies that are essential for the platform to work
  • ✓ We do not use advertising or marketing cookies
  • ✓ We do not track your behavior for analytics purposes
  • ✓ We do not share cookie data with third parties for advertising
  • ✓ We do not build user profiles for targeted advertising
2.2 No Cookie Banner Required. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security, we are not required under GDPR/ePrivacy to show a cookie consent banner. These cookies are exempt from consent requirements as they are essential for the service to function.

6. LEGAL BASIS (GDPR)
6.1 Strictly Necessary Exception. Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR recitals, strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent requirements. Our cookies fall into this category because:
  • ✓ They are essential for authentication (you cannot log in without them)
  • ✓ They are required for security (CSRF protection)
  • ✓ They do not track your behavior or build profiles
  • ✓ They are not shared with third parties for marketing
6.2 Your Rights. Even though we only use essential cookies, you still have rights under GDPR including the right to request information about data processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES
7.1 Browser Settings. You can control cookies through your browser:

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies

Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies

Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies

Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions

7.2 Important Note. If you block or delete our authentication cookies, you will be logged out and will need to log in again. The platform requires these cookies to function.
7.3 Do Not Track (DNT). We respect browser DNT signals. However, since we do not track users in the first place, there is no tracking to disable.
8. POLICY UPDATES
8.1 Changes. We may update this Cookie Policy if we change our cookie usage. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
8.2 Commitment. We are committed to maintaining our privacy-first approach. If we ever decide to use analytics or tracking technologies, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms before doing so.
